This chapter is not going to be easy to ignore for anyone. Talking about
religion is always been a tough topic for many people due to the bad
practices from people who theoretically took care of religious duties,
producing atheism on the new generations. That is been a big deal and
challenge for the youngest, who most of the time they are sailing between
believe or not believe.
From my point of view, there are many reasons why many of us do not
believe in any branch of religion: – The influence of Judeo-Christian belief was the beginning to
understand the occidental spirituality, based on the myth of sin. We
are always sinful and guilty. – The feeling of being guilty comes from two ways. The first one, the
idea of God as authoritative but benevolent father. And the second
one, the Augustinian idea what considers earthly life as a valley of
tears. – Those ways produce a huge sense of guilty any time we do not follow
the God rules. We really go through against ourselves with emotional
tortures about good and evil.
In Western religion, those do not happen. God is immanent, is linked
towards our essence of being. It is identified with the nature itself and the
nature of human being. God is inside us and we are inside God.
Conclusion, occidental religion drives away people, which are only reserved
for VIP. On the contrary, oriental religion brings us closer to spirituality.
